Hello everyone,
First off, I hope everyone is having a great week and doing well. With that being said I want to put a message here I think we all can and will benefit from if we take it to heart.
The message here is one that is clear and needful. How do we represent Christ? I know I myself have failed at this many times in my life. I have not always been the ambassador that I should be. However, the question remains that if and when we fail are we trying to change and do better? It is one thing to know we are not doing something, but it is another to actually work on and change that part that we know is not right.
Galatians 6:7 says, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." We then see in verse 8 it says, "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting."
Consider these two verses in this thought. What we sow is what we reap. We can choose between the flesh and the spirit. The action we take is what we reap from. If we know we are not doing right and continue to do wrong, we reap to the flesh. Galatians 5:25 tells us "If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit." so if we know the right way to go, we need to take action to do so! It is not enough to know what is right we must DO what is right as well! James 4:17 shows us "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." meaning it is not enough simply to know the right thing to do.
This is where the rubber meets the road so to speak. The easy part is knowing the right thing to do. However, it is something quite different in today's world to DO the right thing. Sin is accepted and promoted all around us. As he points out in that message cursing is commonplace today and used by people of all positions. Tv promotes wicked lifestyles, and our politicians and society promote sin at every turn.
I fear many times we see it as easier to simply allow things to happen and not take action when we can. Too often we would rather let things slide then stand on the word of God. We have to be bold in our testimony and witness for Christ. However, we cannot do that if we are living like the world is. Let us take a stand for what is right. I think we would be shocked at how many people would be happy and grateful to see people that stood on their convictions and called out for what is right.
Praying for everyone and hope everyone has a great rest of their week. If I can do anything be sure to reach out.
