Sobering Thoughts

I do not know honestly how to begin today. Between the killing of Charlie Kirk yesterday to the anniversary of 9/11 today my heart is heavy for our country. This is sadly a time of division and hurt in our country when we should be coming together more united then ever! However, something has happened here that I think they are not ready for.

In killing Mr. Kirk, they have radicalized many moderate leaning people. They have shown that the liberals trying to take over this country do NOT want to live in peace and instead want to murder anyone who is willing to speak out against them. They have shown their true colors and people have seen them for what they are. From the recent shooting at the catholic school, the refugee killed, and now the killing of Charlie Kirk. The Bible tells us something that is very applicable I would say to what's going on.

Romans 12:18 says "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."

Even in Paul's day he knew that peace was not always going to be an option. Charlie Kirk tried the peaceful option, and they killed him. You know what that means for us now. Peace isn't an option while they seek to destroy and kill us.

Now not everyone who disagrees with you will fall into that category please do not misunderstand the point. However, those who wish us dead have made it very clear who they are. We need to mark these people and realize that with them peace is not an option. We share the Gospel still with them, but we must always be ready for battle with them! I honestly do not think that these people understand the fury they have stirred up in many people. However, for us we see that peace is not an option, and Paul leaves open what we are to do when that occurs.

An event years ago happened that also united this country like never before. Yesterday we had an event that likely set the dividing line of the country. I believe this simply shows that place we are at. There is nothing that will unite us like 9/11 did. Events that shake the country will simply define those dividing lines even more. It is truly sad but that is the place recent events show us to be. You have a party that openly promotes crime and calls for active violence against a president and those who support him. Then you have another side that has remained peaceful through it all and let people like Charlie Kirk try to debate and reason with these people. Now we see peace is no longer an option.

So that may leave you asking what next? That is a worthy question. In short, we keep moving forward and pushing for things we know are right and to bring common sense back to this country. We also know now that reasoning with these people is now an option so we should not try for peace with them. We continue to share the Gospel; but when we do, we must be ready to defend ourselves and act when they attack. Most importantly though we must continue to pray and protect those who need it. Remember the Gospel still needs to be told and shared as it is the only thing that will truly fix this issue. However, that requires us to be living like we should. Take some extra time to love your family and do not let them make you fearful to share that Jesus is Lord and Savior.

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
