So I am going to break this thought up into parts to make it slightly shorter. However, in reading 1 Corinthians 1-2 today just had tp much to ignore.
1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Do you realize why we should avoid getting into long drawn-out debates with the unsaved? The answer is right here! To those that do not Christ as Savior the Bible is foolish to them! They cant understand it nor can they comprehend what it truly is saying. Yet how often have we, me included, gotten into debates or the like with people and they don't even believe the Bible!
1 Corinthians 1:21 KJV
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
God could have used anything He wanted to spread the gospel, but He choose preaching! This is to simply put in place those who think they are wise in their own minds! This is why I would be careful of any theologian you listen to. Most of them try to seem wise and smart while questioning the very word of God! God doesn't need men that have degrees or years and years of study or college. He only needs someone who is surrendered to Him and is willing to be used by God.
To often Christians try to debate the world using the worlds rules or logic. God laughs at the wisdom of the world. That is why we see He decided to use preaching. When done properly it does not allow one to seem smarter and wiser then others. It simply is a man surrendered to God taking the word of God and proclaiming what it says!
This is also why I do not like or give much credence to someone who always has to be like "well lets go back to the Greek". Now it is wise to understand the difference at times but God gave us His perfect and preserved Bible. We do not need the originals, nor do we need to keep going back to the original languages. God prefers to take men who are surrendered to Him and will let God move in them then He does men with large amounts of knowledge!
