First off, I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a busy week for me. Even not having school I have been going through and am digitizing old cassettes that have preaching and making them digital. Something I will share here when I am done doing it.
I want us to think of something for a moment. How many of you are tired? If we are actually honest, I think most of us would have to admit that yes, we are tired. Whether that be mentally tired or physically tired. We live in a world that is crazy and seems to be only getting worse and worse, doesn't it? It seems like people don't care about one another and even so-called Christians are looking more and more like the world. Seeing all these things it is hard not to be discouraged which will lead us to eventually be exhausted.
Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Do you know where we go to get rest? It is not in the world. The world can only offer distractions that work for a time and then we need new ones. The only true way to get rest is through Christ! We need to point people to Christ so they can get rest! However, unless we are abiding in Christ and taking advantage of that rest why would the world want what we are saying we offer? It is important we walk daily with Christ. Read the Bible, pray, and fellowship with other believers in worship of Him! That is why it is important who we are hanging around and who we spend time with daily. We cannot properly witness or encourage other believers if we are not living in Christ!
We live in a world that is drowning in sin. We must be the light of the world, but we cannot do that if we are fighting our own spiritual and mental battles. We must abide in Christ so we can properly be the witness and encouragement we are supposed to be to one another. So, abide in Christ! Take advantage of the rest He offers and always be ready and willing to help a brother or sister in Christ who may be struggling or who may stumble on the path.
In Christ,
Logan
